QUESTION: Do I have to be credentialed if my agency is credentialed?
ANSWER: Yes. Cornerstones of Care will only be credentialing individuals to be part of the Service Provider Network. However, payment can be made to an agency for services provided by an individual, if need be.
QUESTION: Do I have to use the automated system to receive referrals, submit progress notes and bill for the services I’ve provided?
ANSWER: Yes. Cornerstones of Care has developed a state-of-the-art automated system which allows for Case Management Staff and you as service providers to save time on paper work by using the automated system.
QUESTION: Is the automated system safe and secure for transmitting data across the Internet?
ANSWER: Yes. Cornerstones of Care utilizes Verisign SSL 128 bit encryption services for all connections coming in and going out of our system. This can be validated via the yellow padlock on the bottom right corner of your browser or by making sure the browser's current address starts with an 'https'. You may also validate our authenticity by clicking the Versign Logo in designated areas.
QUESTION: When would I receive payment for the services that I provide?
ANSWER: Cornerstones of Care will issue payment on the 15th of each month for services provided the previous month, when charges & corresponding progress notes are submitted by the 4th working day of the month.
QUESTION: How do I become part of the Service Provider Network?
ANSWER: The Cornerstones of Care Application & Credentialing page contains a description of the application process, including checklists and necessary forms.
QUESTION: Can I be a placement provider for Cornerstones as well as the Children’s Division?
ANSWER: Yes. You can be contracted with multiple placement agencies at the same time. This broadens the network of homes available to children, and also broadens your opportunity to have children placed in your home. Even if you are contracted with us, you are not obligated to accept a referral.
QUESTION: Do I get a new licensing worker?
ANSWER: No. You will remain licensed through the State, and will retain your same licensing worker that the State provides. You still need to maintain all reporting requirements with the licensing worker, even if submitting the same information to Cornerstones.
QUESTION: Why do I have to submit an application and credentialing documents?
ANSWER: This enables us to know our providers and do a better job of matching children to homes. Copies of your license and insurance help us verify homes and ensure a safe environment for all children in our care.
QUESTION: What does Cornerstones pay Placement Providers?
ANSWER: Cornerstones will follow the same pay structure as the Children’s Division for our initial year of payment, and are committed to trying to improve payment and support of foster parents in the future. Maintenance payments will be made on the 15th of each month by check or direct deposit. Provider Billing Statements should be provided to the applicable case manager by the 2nd of each month to insure timely and accurate payment.
