This workshop will focus on effectively assessing for suicide risk, evidenced-based intervention strategies and how to work with young people and their families to safety plan & reduce access to lethal means.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Evaluate effective risk assessment questions and discuss application to practice.
  2. Identify the benefits of collaborative treatment/safety planning and recognize the importance of means reduction counseling.
  3. Explore evidenced based treatment options for individuals at risk for suicide.
