OUR SERVICES

We are dedicated to helping children and families wherever they are, whenever they need us. Our prevention, treatment and support services are an integration of traditional social welfare and innovative behavioral healthcare services. Each year, we help 7,000 children and families (plus an additional 4,000 community members) improve health, happiness, confidence, competence and self-sufficiency. Our 600+ trained professionals practice a certified trauma-informed model to identify, address, treat, and monitor a variety of behavioral healthcare needs. We specialize in six key service areas:

Education

Our therapeutic day schools assist students in grades K-12 with emotional and behavioral disorders. The majority have been removed from their home school due to aggressive tendencies, which impacts their social and academic functioning. Through individualized intervention, it is our goal to help children build the skills they need to return and succeed in their home school.

More than 1,200 students receive behavioral health assessments, consultations and treatment services in 315 schools, 50 districts and four states.

Additionally, we offer support programs and services to educators and administrators through our Behavior Intervention Support Team (BIST) program.

Mental & Behavioral Health

Approximately 1 in every 5 youth (ages 13-18) will experience a severe mental health disorder in their lifetime. In an atmosphere that promotes healing, inclusion, respect for difference, and positive social change, youth can overcome their mental health challenges.

We provide substance abuse treatment and integrated health services to meet behavioral needs of our community members through our outpatient counseling services and residential treatment. Do you know a child experiencing a mental health crisis? Help them get help here.

Foster Care & Adoption

We believe every child deserves a family and a home. Our highest priority is to unite children and youth in state custody with nurturing households and then ensure the foster and adoptive families have the resources they need to provide a safe and supportive environment.

Additionally, we partner closely with parents and caregivers in hopes of reunifying children and youth with their original family or caregivers. If returning home is not an option, our intensive home finding center works to find an adoptive family for the child(ren).

While several children are matched with a foster home, many are still waiting. Do more to help the children in your neighborhood by becoming a foster parent.

Youth Support

Our caseworkers are committed to providing crisis intervention and protection for children and youth in the child welfare system. We educate families on how to avoid and manage conflict so they can remain safely together.

As youth mature and seek independence, we pair them with coaches, tutors and mentors who inspire them to pursue educational goals, while helping them build life skills and social networks.

One of our programs, the Youth Educational Success Program (Y.E.S.), was developed to address the financial and educational barriers that foster youth face, and increase the number of foster youths who attend and graduate from higher education opportunities – whether it be college or vocational.
