Community Training

Cornerstones of Care deploys a team of highly trained professionals to train and educate individuals, groups, organizations and companies on a variety of topics. Our team can adapt current trainings and/or develop customized curricula for classroom experiences or online learning to meet individual group needs on topics.

Below is a short list and descriptions of the topics available to you.

This course is designed to heighten the awareness of the unique challenges in regards to human trafficking. Participants will learn definitions, laws, and the scope of both global and national human trafficking. This course will instruct participants on the characteristics of traffickers, recruiters and victims and inform participants about steps being taken by global, federal and state governments. The participants will also learn the challenges that arise in recognition, assessment, intervention, and treatment of victim. Training includes assessment tools and intervention strategies. The course is approximately 6 hours. Time can be adjusted to meet the needs of the participants.

This training explores the research findings of the A.C.E. study by Felitti (Kaiser Permanente) and Anda (CDC) and provides strategies for reducing the frequency and negative impact of adverse childhood experiences.

This training takes an in depth look as the physical, sexual, and emotional abuse and neglect of children, including physical and behavioral indicators.  It includes who is considered a mandated reporter, the process of making a hotline call, how that call is handled and potential outcomes.  This interactive training includes activities and is approximately 6 hours. Time can be adjusted to meet the needs of the participants.
