DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF ANXIETY DISORDERS IN YOUTH

This course will familiarize participants with the diagnosis and treatment of anxiety disorders in children and adolescents. The information will be presented in a manner that can be easily understood not only by clinical treatment team members, but by anyone involved in the treatment and advocacy of youth. 

Objectives:

  • Recognize the signs and symptoms of anxiety disorders in children and teens.
  • Learn strategies to assist young people manage stress and anxiety.
  • Recognize normal levels of stress/anxiety and learn strategies for how to support young people through these experiences.
  • Understand how to help young people face difficult stressors with confidence and assist them in building their own resiliency.
