Purpose: To enhance professional practice, values, skills, and knowledge about serving cancer patients and families and identify community resources best suited to assist families.

Goals:  Throughout the training, participants will increase knowledge regarding the impact of cancer in family system and ways to best support them through communication and community resources.

Objectives: 

  • Learn about the scope of cancer incidence and most common concerns of cancer patients.
  • Understand ways to support families impacted by cancer.
  • Develop effective communication skills when working with cancer patients.
  • Identify community resources available to families impacted by cancer.
