With the uncertainty of how long the disruption to our daily lives will last as the coronavirus continues to impact our communities and families, a determination will be made no later than three weeks prior to a training regarding its status and if it will still take place as originally planned or be rescheduled for a later date.

As social workers, our professional responsibilities can be demanding in numerous ways. It is imperative in this role of service to others that we make self-care a priority. In this course, you will develop a greater understanding of the ways in which engaging in self-care applies to ethical social work practice.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Develop an understanding of the ethical implications related to self care as it applies to social work competencies.
  2. Identify signs of compassion fatigue and burnout.
  3. Review dilemmas which may create ethical challenges in social work practice.
  4. Develop a personal plan for self-care.
