DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF MOOD DISORDERS IN YOUTH

This course will familiarize participants with the diagnosis and treatment of mood disorders. The information will be presented in a manner that can be easily understood not only by clinical treatment team members, but by anyone involved in the treatment and advocacy of youth. 

Objectives:

  1. Recognize the signs and symptoms of mood disorders in children and teens.
  2. Learn strategies to assist young people in managing mood disorders.
  3. Understand the biochemical process involved in the development of mood disorders.
  4. Understand differences between situational and clinical mood disorders.
