Through a combination of lecture, group work and interactive case examples, participants will explore the changes made in the DSM-V (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders–5) that are different from previous editions in order to use proper diagnostic terminology for their clients. Participants will:

  • Gain a basic understanding of the DSM system, 
  • Explore changes made from the DSM-IV to the newest edition — the DSM-V, and
  • Practice the basic procedures to make a qualified diagnosis using the DSM-V.
