Purpose: To enhance professional practice, values, skills, and knowledge about serving cancer patients and families and identify community resources best suited to assist families.

Goals: Throughout the training, participants will increase knowledge regarding the impact of cancer in family system and ways to best support them through communication and community resources.

Objectives:

Learn about the scope of cancer incidence and most common concerns of cancer patients.
Understand ways to support families impacted by cancer.
Develop effective communication skills when working with cancer patients.
Identify community resources available to families impacted by cancer.
